Well the shopping is done. Got a pair of Altberg warrior mk2's aqua. Love the lundhags but the boss was not impressed with the cost, or my offer to sell a lung. Tha ks for all the help guys. Spot on. 👍

Can't go wrong with the Warriors I have the none aquas which I've had for a few year brilliant 3season boot, but it's my all year round Field and Fell lightweights which I feel are the best boots out there love them, and when it's cold and snowy I have my Bergens good 4season boot

Whilst watching Countryfile this Sunday the 5th I noticed how lovely Ellie Harrisons boots were (camo design with laces)!! Did anyone happen to notice what brand they were or know where I can can get a pair???

I love my Zamberlan's. Can't say a bad word about them.

I also have a pair of zamberlan vioz gtx that are great but had to go up a size the only snag is some with broad feet may find them narrow!

I just bought a pair of Grubs Snowline 8.5 as my new winter boots to spare my Altberg Warrior mk2 aqua from the continuous soaking and almost drying of Geordieland and Scottish winters (i love them and want them to last as long as possible), looking forward to putting them to the test as soon as they arrive

I think they're made by Jack Pyke. They're the old pair of boots I had but were no good after one year.

Altberg defenders would be my vote

Another one for Altberg Defenders here. They are comfy from the get go. I also like the fact that they have an extra insole that I can remove to give my feet some extra space when on a long hike with a heavy pack. I would buy another pair without hesitation.

I love my altbergs already. Never had a pair before and they're already getting comfortable. Wore them at a meeting for two days solid when I first got them and had no problems at all. Brilliant boots.

Lowa Combats for me. They are all I wear when walking on Dartmoor now. Had them for 3 years and they are still superbly comfortable. They get looked after and new insoles from time to time. They have never let in any water and were excellent straight out of the box. Not the lightest boot there is, but high topped and excellent quality. Much better than the Meindl "proper" walking boots I had which leaked after a few months and the soles wore out quickly in my opinion.

I 'recently bought a pair of new Haix combat boots (warrior?) That are current issue in brown. I'm getting on well with them. So well I may have to flog my Lundhags ! @GGTBod I love my snowlines....they're a great wellygoggle . The lining has started coming away inside the heel though. I reckon I'll get another winter out of them though.

I went for the Snowline after reading your thread about them and your trip to the pub, how long did they last before the lining started to come away?

2 years + ...they've had a lot of use , all year round . Work , rest and play. The lining is just the thin microfleece around my heel area. It's probably due to how I've taken them off without thought.
As I said , they will live on comfortably for another winter easily.

Spot on that's a good life for a pair of boots, they are the most comfortable welly i've ever worn that's for sure, sole is more like a hiking boot than a regular gumboot sole

Cheers for the head up, it was the promise of feet forever warm regardless of what conditions i am in that made me take the leap and cough up the reddies, never thought i'd ever spend 80 quid on a pair of wellies
