Netting Needle

Fancied a go at making a Netting Needle, so here it is, thanks for looking!

I really like that, did you use green or dry wood?

Been trying to make one for a while but mine keep splitting as I'm carving the top of the cavity.

I cut down some dead standing ash about 6 months ago, split some 18" long bits in half and left them to dry!
As long as you have taken the pith out it should not split, saying that, i'm on my third attemp at a Kuksa cos they keep splitting on me!

you need to make a mesh gauge now to go with it, which will be rather easier, or several if knitting different sizes.

The most difficult part in making a net is carving a needle. You have that mastered. Hope to soon see pictures of the nets you have made. Tony
