I am thinking of getting a NEO AIR self inflating mattress - mainly for ground dwelling. I am wondering how suitable it would be as an insulating mat in a DD hammock? I am thinking noise may be a factor?

Anyone any experience of a NEO AIR mat with a hammock set up?

I've not tried mine in the hammock but I can't see why it wouldn't work, it'll be quite tippy though due to the height of it

I have tried it in a Hennessy-useless for the following reasons...

SO noisy!
I have the full length and it is too long to manouvre around.
Partially deflated it followed the curves of the body well but was then 'sticky' and rotated with the sleeper.
The Neoair is also narrow and thick so I always felt on edge about to tip off.
Internally I haven't found any mat that works for me.

Tried my Neo Air in a Nomad hammock at Bushmoot and it was fine for the milder weather.

As mentioned already it's on the narrow side so I wouldn't opt for one in the cold winter months.

I found it works best inflated as little as possible.
