seaford, great beach there for mackerel and cod. i go there regularly for the fishing so i know what you mean by the lack of trees, but im only 10mins drive away and there are a few woods around where you could go and chop off a few branches to bring back. also, if you have a decent sized garden then maybe some fast growing trees (silver birch?) for later if you really get into woodcarving for a long time. you could also check to see if anyone local has chopped off any large branches or trees recently and ask for a few branches.

Try local tree surgeons, I'm sure they might be able to help

Try your local Council. They may be cutting down trees, or have to clear up fallen trees after all this snow.:)
