Just been thinking;
I've got a petrol lighter the mechanics of which are understandably simple (cotton wool like stuffing with a wick). The point being that any other, equally non-viscous, liquid would get drawn up just as well. The difference would be in how well it burns; right??
So are there any flammable liquids out there that don't require an oil rig, processing plant, production line and shop?
I was thinking: thinned out tree-sap/resin?! Or some other sort of plant juice, maybe rotting juices, which would contain some alcohol surely?!
This is more just a curiosity. I always carry petrol, a ferro rod and a strike-a-light kit with me...would be interesting to find out though
Thanks,
Ed
