This plant is tucked away on the side of a footpath not far from my house. I thought it was wild parsnip on account of the leaf shape. I don't think it's wild angelica as the serrations seem a bit blunt/random and the leaf not rounded enough. But the problem is, the stem is not deeply ribbed. It has ribs, but they're certainly not deep or fluted. So that suggests something other than wild parsnip (or am I reading too much into this feature?). The lack of any purple on the stem suggests something other than wild angelica. What does that leave me with? It has yet to flower, presumably as a defense mechanism against identification.
