Just bought a new Jonta freeplay torch, it has a 1/2watt high output led and a big wind up handle to recharge the batteries, also comes with a mains charger you plug into the torch. It's a bit big and heavy but according to the blurb I will never need to buy any more bulbs or batteries.
The recommended retail price is £40 but Pro Adventure in Llangollen have it on offer for £30 in the shop and £20 if you belong to their adventure club.
I think it's a good buy for £20, see pics below, the AA and AAA maglights are for scale purposes.
