I got bored last week and made this

the blade (made from heat treated CS70) is just about 50mm and has properly hand cut and set teeth to a pitch of 23 tpi. The handle is beech with brass pins.

It's the mini rip saw to go with that axe

thanks guys, I like making these mini's as a diversion from the making of the full sized versions. They are all made iname way and of tehsame materails, so in theory you can use them for the same jobs. That's assuming your name is Tom Thumb of course :D

Got a chisel and drawknife waiting for me to work out how to turn handles for them (the handles are going to be less than 3/4" by 3/6"). Though now you mention it, I may have to make a bushcraft knife to complete the set. But i don't make woody clones, so it will have to be a mini version of my GreenMan bushcraft knife ;)

Hi Dave
When I used to do a lot of woodturning I quite often used to make pieces for the mother in laws dolls house. I had made a set of goblets, when in a moment of boredom I decided to see how small I could go.
First I made some chisels out of a pin and a small oval nail, and used as fast a speed as the lath would go.
I then found a scrap of yew, it became a bit of an obsession as each smaller and smaller goblet was turned ending with the one standing on the 20p piece

I have made some ipe spindles for knife pins they that could work as handles. You need a pretty tough wood to hold together at that size. .I'll let you have some when I see you.

Edit: I forgot to say - stunning work chas...

I'm using the correct woods for the tool. Hence the riven ash axe hadnle, teh beech saw handle and the soon to be boxwood handles for teh drawknife and chisel. OK there are other suitable woods, but box will take the stress and is one of the best tool handles woods I kniw for these things :)
