My first "no-help" knife

This is my first attempt at a fully "home made" knife. I'd always got someone else to do my heat treats previously. Its convex o1, takes a good edge and seems to work well.

How did you do your heat treat?

I bought a mini propane forge auctioned on British Blades - it was cheaper than buying the parts to make my own. :)

The handle is curly birch. :)

I was drooling over one of those last weekend - Country Crafts show at Knebworth - the smith noticed and asked if I liked his work..... I had to admit that wrought iron wine bottle holders didn't really turn me on, but his forge was luverly! :D

Lost Patrol,

If you ever want to sell that knife, can I have first refusal please? No actually, you should NEVER sell it, but I can buy the next one?

Thanks for the kind words everyone, they are appreciated. My main reason for posting was to encourage others to attempt to make their own knife, just as others here and on BB have encouraged me.

Thanks All :You_Rock_
