My first forge and go at "blacksmithing"

Hello thought I show you how my first forge setup looks like. A copper tube dig down and connected to a hand air pump. I used left over coals from earlier fires and wood as fuel.







These are the masterpieces...


And a cup of tea


The plastic did melt a little...


A bigger pump and more/better coal and it should work better with less effort.

Updated my forge tonight with a new pipe and "anvil". Also had a go at making a little birch charcoal but they didn't bake all the way through. I need a bigger pump...



Here you can see the anvil-plate...



Gonna try to make a hollow carving iron from this broken Kamasa tool...

guess i am lucky being able too use my schools facilities as they have an exelent craft department, including a great forge with two fires and about 10 anvils, the forges are great and large enough for any work i intend to make.
