about 2 years ago i pick up an axe for 50p, to be honest I wished I took photos befor I sorted it out as the thing was a mess, the blade was dented like hell and the handle was scratch, chipped, dirty and had paint drops all over it, it was also very loose and was easy to take off.
The Axe has been sitting in a draw for some time now and I have just recently found out it was made in kent by a company called gilpins thats has a stamp on the head saying chipchop No1. I have been told it was made from a good steel which had inspired me to get to work on it. so after doing the worst of it with a dremel, I then spent some time grinding, sanding, honing,sharping and fitting the handle back on, to my suprise it has turned out to be better than I expected. I have also spent 5mins making a sheeth out of leather I found in the street, I will make a better one for it in the future but for now its funtional.
