Omnifuel all the way if you want a modern stove you can simmer on.
If weight isn't an option have a look in surplus shops for a 111 or on ebay - be warned vintage stoves are a dangerous and expensive path to start down, you'll soon end up with a collection.
The Primus Omni Fuel is a good stove and does simmer well. The pump on the new models also features a large amount of plastic but it's a better pump than an MSR. As the Omnifuel is a 'roarer' burner it will be noisy in use...
