Modern flint tools

My uncle sent me a link from the Budapest design week 2012 where a chap has made flint tools with a modern twist

Hi, what is the material they are set in, looks like some sort of plastic, just my opinion but i think they would look nicer set in wood.

I don,t know I think its plastic as it was supposed to be ancient and modern

I like the flints - but I think the tool handles are plain ugly and wrong!

i like the OP ones a lot, i think the old and new works really well.

The last person I watched knapping was Karl Lee, and I was absolutely fascinated
I bought a couple of his pieces afterwards, and I still find them brilliant I have found pieces when fieldwalking and excavating, but seeing Karl sit there and quietly explain what he was doing as he knapped the flint, suddenly made all those little shards and arrowheads suddenly very 'real', and very much something someone had made. Kind of wonderful

Cool skill to have, to work at.

The best place I've been for finding lumps of flint was on a building site in Lambeth, London. Loads of the stuff.
