I was at Merrist Wood Summer Show today.
The wife had entered our spaniel Sam in his first dog agility event. He did well getting a 5th place in his class so we're well pleased with him
Anyway there was a couple stands that might be of interest to folks on here so here's some pics.
Action shot of Sam
Unimog row
I rather liked this sign
And what he had... just about a 5th of his collection. The owner had over 300 billhooks as well as other associated hedging implements. He specialised mainly in Elwell unless a particular pattern wasn't done by them
A hurdle maker demonstrating his skills (actually he was having a break)
Then I came upon this fantastic display of forestry and hedging implements
Some closeups
He had this beastie on display... I bet you could fell yards of hedge with it
A pole lathe was on display as well
Here's him writing his business details down for a customer... very green
I also met Angst from the forum and admired his stock. He's a really talented man and the quality of his work is superb.
All in all it was a great day out
