Spotted these in a customer's garden growing on a dead beech tree's roots20180828_132024.jpg trees roots.

I believe meripilus giganteus is edible? These ones are a bit ropey though.

Going to have to take the lawn up, I guess. Or do you just souse with fungicide.

Impressive irruption though, either way you look at it :)

They look normal and natural in our artificial environment.
Yeah, I know. Eat some dirt. Hug another introduced tree species.

Take the bag off, jam the gate wide open and pure' them with the gas mower.
You'd think it was snowing. I've got a Fairy Ring in the back, some are almost dinner plate size.
I can still hear the gardener laughing with every "whack!"

It's been dangerously dry here for wild fires this summer.
Now, we've had a couple of days of rain with more to come.
The mushrooms are coming up like popcorn.

Yep; it certainly looks like the Giant Polypore in Philips but nothing like the one in Dann.
But, as you said, too far gone unless you can find some new bloom.

I think they're beautiful; nicer than bare grass :)
