Has anyone used a pair of Meindl doure extreme boots.
Just interested in any feedback as thinking about a pair for this winter(and many more considering the price).
Soloman.

for a general opinion of the brand and the quality you could search what I have written on Meindl. Short version, their products are overpriced rubbish.

I tried a pair on in Tamarack a few weeks ago, I felt they were a bit too chunky and kind of restrictive around the ankle. Fair enough I didn't give them much of a chance because I only walked round the shop in them for half an hour but you do get an idea.
I ended up going for the Lundhags Ranger High which felt so much more comfortable at the time. About 30 miles and a couple of nights out later I'm glad I made that choice.

Best to try them on Soloman if you can, especially when spending that kind of money. I had my heart set on the Lowa Hunter Extremes but felt like my feet were cooking when I finally got to try a pair on.

You could try ringing Tamarack and ask Sally if Tony has taken the Dovres and Lundhags up to the Blair Athol show this week, could be a good opportunity to try a few pairs on. You should get the 20% off aswell which runs out on Monday.

I owned a pair of Meindl's and one fine day the soles just fell off. Not as a matter of speech, but really so: one moment I was walking with soles and the next moment the soles were laying behind me on the path and I was left with a crumbling dried goo under the so much 'impressive' boots...

So, what was the name of those Swedish boots?

I've had a pair of Meindl Burma Pro goretex jobs for over 2 years & they've been very good. Waterproof, comfy & not had any issues at all. May be the dodgy one's were part of a crappy batch..........

I have some Miendl Vakuum GTX, they have memory foam inside and are comfy as hell, build quality is fantastic so i can not complain, they are really surdy. Not the best for all situations though. I wouldn't wear them for a lowland stroll with the kids, that would be over kill but most of my hiking is done on hard terrain, highland, hills etc and they are superb for this.

Yes they are expensive i paid £120 for mine reduced from £150 but they still cost £150 most places now.

I rate them as good as Le Chameaux, just as rugged and hard wearing.

A good friend of mine is a hill shepeard and is out on the hills most days and he always buys meindls.

I do however look in tk maxx often where they had raicles and scarpas just the other week i got a good pair of scarpa walking boots that where RRP 150 for £45.

Thanks guys for the info,i came across a shop today in crief that had a good range of meindl boots so i had a good look at some.
The quality looks very good, the assistant said that alot of shepherds and gamekeeprs buy them.
