Nice video, it does look a lovely time. Your daughter would get on well with mine.
Couple of things to save your tools though. Try not to use the back of the axe on the knife whilst battoning, it could damage it, use a piece of wood it is more forgiving, (and mind where she puts her finger is in case of slips). When using a ferro rod, strike it with the spine of the knife not the blade as you might knacker the edge.

Noted, thanks for the info. She did try with a piece of wood and found it a lot more comfortable and felt more in control with the axe for some reason, so just left her to it. In regards to the ferro rod and knife, it's my fault as I still haven't gotten round to filing a flat spot on the spine for her.
It's a shame you're not in Leeds any more and that we didn't get a trip out before you went. I did say our kids would get along. Oh and btw, those sleeping bags are so warm and comfy hehe. The Gelert one is a bit restrictive when you're on the deck but I should be a hanger soon, so I'm assuming it's gunna be a lot better.
