An adage I try and abide by in this modern throw away society.
Army tarp needed a bit of work and so thought I'd do a proper job. One end was ripped so thought I'd do both ends while I'm at it. Just got to put an eye in the tag and am awaiting delivery as run out.

Very nice work.
I agree, that's a better use of time than the telly in so many ways.
It's always satisfying to do a good job, but even better when it extends the life of something.
Your work gives it more character and personality too.
Thanks Brizzle, reminds me of how stuff used to be made now

Very nice! All I can lay claim to is making a new pedle for the kitchen bin. The old one had worn through/snapped. But I'm a horder so I had a 'handy' piece of aluminium and made a new one.

I am very fond of Carhartt winter coats, particularly in winter snow storms of -20C.
The snow bounces off like sugar and the canvas seems wind-proof.
The cuffs of the sleeves fray after 15 years.

I got lucky and discovered a paraplegic guy who did custom leather work.
Puffin, your work reminded me of all the things I got that guy to fix.
Sleeve cuffs, worn spots, shooting vest patches, all kinds of things.
Then he died.

I hope I haven't just got the kiss of death and will still be here at xmas

I must make another local effort to find a leather-worker.
#1 had a lot of physical challenges that put him in the chair.
But he sure did satisfactory work.

I need many little knife sheaths for a lot of my wood carving knife tools.
Possibly a couple of tool rolls with leather inserts at the blade end.
