That looks great! - who would have thought that a kiss with a file would release the prince from the trappings of the frog!

........ now where is mine lurking....... I feel the need to pimp too! :D

... the steel is good also

That looks really great John, I love the design.

If we're talking the ones which sell for about £15 though, my concern is that I didn't rate the steel at all in the one I had (although maybe I just had a poor example) - even taking into account the softness needed in a machete, it just wouldn't hold a decent edge.

Do you find yours to be OK? Or have you re-HT'd it? :D

It didn't take me long Big Geordie, but I am a knife maker and have a work shop set up for it , dont think i would have liked to do that with a file hehe
I didn't re heat treat it and I have no idea what steel it is but I am sure it wouldn't take much digging to find out , I think its some kind of stainless it didn't throw out carbon steel sparks while grinding , as for holding an edge it seems ok I went out with it today it cut paper before I went out hacked stuff for about 2hrs including dead wood and it cut paper when i got back,,, If your trying to use one of those machete as they come I wouldn't bother they are more use as a hammer than a cutting tool lol
