Got a package this morning from Pignut - 2 knives and a steel striker. The striker is based on the one RM used on the Walkabout show, I want to make a little kit like it :) Even in my never-used-a-proper-flint'n'steel-before hands it throws good sparks!

The knives? Well, just look...

And this - a Mountain Man knife. Ebony handle wrapped in rawhide and suede with rattlesnake detail. It's a beauty!

The Nessie is lovely :) It's 8" overall with a blade length of just under 4 1/2" with a width of 1" at the handle to 1 3/4" at its widest, 1/8" thick. Can't tell you about the materials though :)

It feels good in the hand, I will have to make a sheath for it though. I'm still trying to figure out the best design for it with the material I've got

Sweet - I'm hoping its a decent tool steel!

Thats nigh on a perfect nessie shape. It really want to be a hidden tang with an antler roll handle though.....in a rawhide sheath...........

I do NOT need another knife..........

And breathe :D
