Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
So here I am at a job 50+ miles from home and the owners of the house have gone out for the evening leaving me alone. No worries I thought, I have sky TV and use of their PC (if I need to check my emails).

So I have just spent finished dinner and sat down to watch a bit of TV, then spent the last 50 minutes flipping through the channels and there is utter rubbish on. Granted I'm only able to look at the freeview side of things, so the ocumentray channels are off limits, but gawd almighty there's some crap on nowadays. Little wonder I haven't watched a TV programme in months! I prefer browsing online, mostly here or watching a DVD on my PC.

I'm even toying with the idea of going to bed! And it's only 9pm here! Sheesh! How sad is that? Movies4Men is showing some quality crap right now. Moon 44. Looks rivetting! NOT!

Good thing all my sharp chisels are over in the barn or I might have to fall on one just to put myself out of this misery!

Anyway just checking in on my favourite forum.

Oh well, back to the dross.

In the same boat, housesitting for some family members watching Gavin and Stacey again. Can't find anything else to watch.

laughing me head of here, bloody hell ar kid, pull your self together, its not like you, normally quite jovial, must be bad.
keep your chin up bud.
take care.
lee.

Spend the next hour moving all the furniture around the house from Room to room just to confuse them when they get back.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Drawing would be a good idea if I had my drawing pad with me. As for the DVD collection, how's the entire series of Midsommer murders grab ya? Yeh my thoughts exactly. However things got a little more interesting on TV earlier with Eastwood's gritty film Unforgiven. So while I'm waiting for the pesky adverts to finish I thought I'd check in here.

Yeah I am normally more upbeat than this, but man, the crap that's on TV and under the name of entertainment, you gotta wonder how some of these programmes even see the light of day.

Ok advert's over back to the TV

G'night folks.

The way I look at it, TV fills in the moments when I need to relax for a bit and am too tired to do anything else. Otherwise, there are just too many other things to do. Truly, I can't recall the last time I was bored. Mostly I just know there aren't enough hours in the day. Reading a good book is a luxury! If nothing else strikes your fancy, forget the tube and grab a book.

When on your travels, take a laptop along with something like 150 episodes of The Twilight Zone (original) on the hard drive and all the original Star Trek, that should keep you going for a day or two.

Backgammon online is another way to pass the time.

...150 episodes of The Twilight Zone (original) on the hard drive and all the original Star Trek, ...

You'll be ready to fall on your chisel after that lot!

+1 - the guy I work with has just got sky plus (pays something like £70 per month for it) and I gave up trying to find something decent to watch ages ago. I take a stack of books, sewing/repair jobs, and sharps to sharpen(!) to while away the time before bed. Oh and I've just discovered podcasts - Bugle, Johann Hari, Little Acorns, always thought provoking.
