Log for chopping block - somerset

Before I start to randomly searching around, can anyone suggest somewhere in the Somerset area where I can get a largish log to use as a chopping block for splitting logs.

Something about 14 inches in diametre and 12 inches high probably, but really almost around this sort of size would do.

I can ring around timber yards and tree surgeons, but on the off chance someone here is in the business, especially if they sell decent logs for burning as well, it would seem to make sense to go to them.

Happy to pay for such a log, and come and collect. I am in the Wells/Shepton Mallet area.

I second that, Yandles is a great little place. Coincidently they have a tool show on the 3rd and 4th of April as well.

I manage a small wood near Urchfont, its possible I could source you a nice lump of beech if you're still in need. I live in the Westbury area, would drive to Frome or there abouts if it would help.
