List of Trees?

I would be very greatful if someone could list all the important trees in the UK, and perhaps a link to some info on them.

I understand it is quite a tall order, but I feel it could be of benifit to many more than just me.

All trees are important Gary, some more SO some less but all have there place.

many of em have names and histories which makes it all the more fun

I recently picked up a copy of Collins "Trees of Britain & Europe" by G Aas and A Riedmiller together with "Food for Free" by Richard Mabey, both great books and can be carried in the field, wish I'd bought them years ago. The tree guide isn't the most extensive list available but it covers enough trees for my needs (over 300). Both books available in tiny, medium and table sizes and highly recomended.

Have a look at

It list all UK trees, easy to use sections (native, newcomers etc) includes pics of leaves and so on

Also look at woodshed on the site, lots of interesting things to do trees

ive heard the collins guide to tree id is good, i am getting it soon
