I've debated getting a good macro lens for some improved insect and flower photographs. Could anyone make some suggestions for a reasonable lens for a Canon Eos system? Nothing too hefty if possible - say up to a couple of hundred (or are they not worth getting at that price?). All advice gratefully received!

Have a search or ask on WAB Red, there are some serious macro photographers on there. I remember they always advised the same macro lense as one of the best but I cannot remember what one...

Huge beetle, this one is dead sadly, the 100 Forint coin is about the same size as a 1 Euro coin...

A fly of some kind, thought the wing pattern was pretty...

Thats a six spot burnet moth..One of our day flying moths..
The beetle is a male stag beetle..

Cheers for that, I've renamed the moth in my photo library, 'six spot burnet moth' sounds so much better than 'misc_insect_07'
