I got into leatherwork last summer when at a show I went to a leather stand and we got chatting and he said he would help me make a sheath! So I went over and here are the results.

. After that he send me away with an awl, some thread and Some scrap leather. I quickly made a dodgy stitching clam and got to work, my results where ok but without a pricking iron they weren't great.

then for Christmas I got the rest of the tools that I needed (including a pricking iron and a stitching clam!) and I've been addicted!! I finished up this sheath last night.

again I'm new to leather and I'm only 13 but any advice or comments would be appreciated

Keep up the good work and practice as much as you can.

If you have some scraps, you could practice on finishing edges, I use gum tragacanth and a wooden edge slicker. You can use a piece of old denim and gum tragacanth (you can buy this as powder from cake decorating shops or as a mixed gum from specialist suppliers, although is more expensive this way). Plenty of good videos on Youtube.

Yeah, you can't see it but the edges are beveled and I use gum tragacanth to burnish, but thanks for the tip off
