I shall post in here to give the thread a bump and keep it active, purchased Leather from https://www.jwoodleathers.co.uk/ on friday, Imissed the next day delivery service as it was a late order, wasnt processed till Monday, as shut over the weekend by look of it, arrived tuesday morning.
Given theyre in Yorkshire & Im in Suffolk which is covered in snow atm, I was pleased how quick it got delivered.
Never used them before, dont know what there prices are like compared to other suppliers I liked the website and felt comfortable ordering because it was very user friendly.
I must say the quality of what I recieved was very good.
I will use them again.

I getting close to having run out of my leather so will give them a look!

I also purchased the swatch with the pre dyed Veg tan leathers on for £10 however I wouldnt have bothered If i knew it was only 1 inch squares on a very nice printed card.
Im so used to seeing work top swatches from where I used to work I expected something more like those. but hay ho, I have an Idea of what they are now.
edit:
I should add I didnt look at the swatches on website, when I phoned on the monday to enquire about my order due to the snow, I asked then if they did swatches. just got told the price and it was added to my order.

Very nice, I like those.
Thanks for keeping the thread going, I must admit I like to come and look at what others are making, far easier than trolling through pages of posts to find some pictures.
Hopefully I shall be able to make things a few things soon. Ive also been buying quite a few things leather craft/tool related.

Other than the leather, I have recently purchased a hydraulic jack press, I ended up getting one made by "Dirty Pro Tools" Ive been looking for ages but theyre well too expensive for me to justify. this one was about £80 delivered from Amazon. however Tried finding it for a mate and its now out of stock, so i assume I was lucky n got the near last one avaliable atm. it says rated at 6 tonne but its a small jack i'd say 1 or 2 if im lucky but I knew that before I purchased which for my needs is fine.

Also purchased a new cutting matt, made of Acetal Co Polymer, wasnt cheap at the size I got, again wanted one for a long time, after watching this video on you tube. I was concerned I was going to get hurt using my head knife as it was gripping my "self healing matt" while in use for push cuts.
The price has gone up alot, since this video was made so it took alot of searching to find the price I got. I have used it and dont regret spending that money, I had a backup use for this material if it was a bad decission, I could make stamps from it on my mini cnc.
I shall provide all the info I can think of below incase anyones really interested. Its in a different league to the regular self healing matts, alot harder and more slippy for the blade so your not applying the same force to cut using a head knife. tbh its amazing to use the knife just glides or skates like its ice.
If anyone is interested I found it cheapest from https://www.theplasticpeople.co.uk but do your own research incase you can find cheaper. If you need it a specific size, select the "cut to size" option its a choice between natural or black.
Black has a uv stabilizer, but a bit dearer. If your after 1000mm x610 size DONT use the cut to size method its dearer than in the link below, even for the sizes they show in the link I've provided.
https://www.theplasticpeople.co.uk/black-acetal-extruded-co-polymer-sheets/
I got 10mm thick, but Id say 8mm thick should be fine I wanted weight to help prevent any warp also for a non slip matt to go under it and stay still, this stuff is slippy so would slide on a top without a non slip or being fixed some how.
While I remember there is no next day delivery option on this product. (mine took 3 from ordering day) and its also £9 delivery. not sure if that applies to smalles sizes.

Been a long time since I posted here too.
Some very nice work there. I hadn't done much leatherwork until the first lockdown, when I dug out the wooden molds and made some pouches.
Mostly as gifts for friends.

Small altoids sized belt pouch with lift thr dot snap

Zippo lighter pouch in 2mm leather.

Little pouch for a US type matchcase I modded with a firesteel mirror and compass. Kinda like an issue survival matchcase I saw once on the Internet.

Little front pouch on a neck knife.

Sak knife pouch with an embossed front flap. The stamp is made from brass wire soldering onto a brass plate screwed to an elm block.
