I got some of these last time around. If you use them close together, they are great at holding leather well as the glue dries and leave minimal marking when they form. I find them easy to affix - no screw tightening, especially when putting waste underneath to stop all marks. Cheap as chips so nothing to lose.

I use the same and find them excellent with one proviso and that is not to forget to put off-cuts of leather between the clamp and the piece of work, otherwise the clamps will permanently mark your work.

Bulldog clips or ratchet clamps (with scrap glued in) for me - I find those spring clamps a bit too aggressive for leather. Marvellous for other gluing jobs, however.
