Just been 'having a go ' on some leather I scrounged off the local cobbler. Not tried any stitching yet gonna have a look at the dye colour to see if that works out as well as the tutorial.....doubt it.
Anyhoo I will no doubt be tooo busy messing around with bow drills Sunday?!?!

Dave, just dampen the leather before hand, it will help the dye to penetrate. I know that a lot of the time people say to use a dauber, but you can use other things. A plant spray gun can be used (it can be a little messy) or paint brushes (1/2 inch or inch are pretty good). work off three coats, don't try to do it as a single coat.
Work in a pattern side to side, then top to bottom and then diagonally one way and then the other, that should give you a pretty even coating if you use paint brushes.
