A friend has taken down a huge boundary of Lawson Cypress and this is the first attempt at doing something with it. It appeals because I believe it has another name - Port Orford Cedar, which I have been using for longbow and field arrows for years. It carves very easily and seems to take oil well too (this is toasted sesame oil).
Not sure if the photos do it justice, but the grain is gorgeous and it smells divine.
I am going to grab a load of this from my friend to play with.
