Been teaching Scouts about this stuff for a few years now. Unfortunately haven't had the chance to get them harvesting it yet though as the group I work with aren't the best at exploring "new" ideas.
Tasty though, though they do have that slightly turned orange juice taste - you know when it goes slightly fizzy tasting. I like it though. Lasts for ages on the bush though so was a reliable food source in the past.
Not only a super food but a super wood too. The bits of wood from bushes and trees I have tested all had a very high density (specific gravity) worthy of the best bow woods, finding a straight bit is proving a tall order bit I will find a stave or take down billets eventually.
