I know about this rucksack. It's been mine for 14 years. I've used it twice. I wouldn't put a heavy load in, it may damage it, but for a day it's comfy and due to the frame very cool to use.
It's had bodge repairs at times, but it still looks lovely. The man I got it from was in his eighties when it came to me, he bought it when he was released from the RAF in '46 and took it out, the only thing about it was a bottle of olive oil he tried to bring back from Italy in the post war years leaked on it (stain visible).
It's been in the airing cupboard for six years, it should be used.
