Land Rovers are great, when they aren't in the shop. If you've got plenty of extra cash laying around burning holes in your pocket, you can usually remedy that by buying a Land Rover. If they were more reliable, I would love to have one.

My thoughts too I had a reasonable budget £20k but neaded a car to use every day and do up to 15000 miles per year and more importantly be reliable with the very occational off road use , a big boot space etc
Having driven loads of different vehicles I liked the Hyundai , never had one before , my last 5 cars have been Mercedese ! but time will tell

Santa Fe 4x4 are very popular out here, and get used for serious desert bashing.
They seem to have a decent rep as a reliable off roader.
