I got a Kuksa with 2 Holes for christmas and it's great... I'm wondering what the best way to clean it is?

Obviously, nothing to damaging but is the cup oiled in any way that would react badly to normal cleaning products?

Cheers

I only would rinse it with hot water, that did the job for me.
Don't put the Kuksa in the dishwashing machine.

cheers

What Viking and Abbe said. If you have been drinking tea or water only, there is no need to clean it. Otherwise just rinse it in water, but as Abbe said do not put it in the dishwasher.
After you have been using it for some time, you might want to put a new finish on the cup again. If so you should only use a type of oil that will not add taste or smell to what you drink. I use parafin wax oil, and sometimes peanut oil. Works for me.

Clean it????????

Fill it with whisky let it stand for a minute then drink the whisky - that'll clean it!

Seriosly though a Tvi, abbe and Viking says hot water is all you need all and maybe a little oil if mood takes you.

Lucky man - Kuksa look great - I'd like one of them !

From what I've read somewhere you're adviced not to use them with milk, yes ?

Also, paraffin oil's one recommended finish for them and I'd never seen that before - kept thinking paraffin fuel and paraffin wax and not being too struck with the idea, but spotted the stuff in IKEA kitchen dept and it seems fine.

£3 something a bottle, a crystal clear mineral oil (not veg) sold for maintaining wooden chopping boards. Not smelly :biggthump

Cheers

Oh no!!!

You've given me a reason to go to Ikea... Eloise will demand to come too and we'll have a car full of flat packed... things!

Aargh :yikes: Better start work on the mantra...

I shall not go especially to IKEA,
I shall only call in if passing.

I shall go directly to the warehouse,
I shall not pass through the showroom,
nor place any order for collection.

I shall only buy that which is written on my shopping list - in advance,
except for the cheap batteries :biggthump

But may succumb to the temptation,
of a plastic hotdog,
and jar of lingonberry jam.

Sorry Sq. - I'll keeep my mouth shut in future :nana:
