The North are often taking pot shots at the South, usually when Kim Jong Il's (sp?) feeling a bit vulnerable and needs to assert himself politically.
It is supposed to be the biggest attack for a long time and is certainly worrying, specially with China's alleigance.
Hopefully he'll pop his clogs soon and his son will turn out to be a bit less insane.

Lets not forget they're acting as proxies; NK for China and SK for the US (which I find much more worrying seeing as they seem to have no compunction about invading wherever they want).

A bit off topic but has anyone seen Brotherhood? Brilliant film, no trailer could do it justice.
I know they take pot shots at each other on occasion but it seems to be getting a bit more serious in the last month. I thought in the past it was mainly Naval based light hearted pot shots? From what I've heard North Korea have a HUGE army but have run out of money to fund it. With China on their side being broke wouldn't matter. South Korea have America as allies, but that wouldn't be too reassuring to me considering America's time in the sun is pretty much finished. Let's hope nothing comes of it eh! A spot of bare knuckle boxing on the border would be epic!

Nothing to light hearted about sinking one of south Koreas ships, I think this will et a lot worse before it calms down, kji will probably get another embargo dropped before it settled,
I know what you mean, nothing light hearted in it but it's a far cry from all out war.

Definitely worrying, the North have China on their side too.
World War III was always going to kick off in Korea, I just hope it's not this time
Already has started, just a bit quiet since 1953 when an Armistice was signed. The Korean War -- make very intresting reading, especially if you go back to the beginnings with Japanese rule, Chinese Civil war and WWII
