knife for climbing

Hi, anyone uses knives in climbing?
I started a part time job putting up huge ads by the roads, involves a lot of climbing. I need a knife that would be durable (as it would have contact with metal from time to time) and easy to take out/away one handed. Any suggestions?

I have the piranha and its excellent if a little small
both are karabiner compatable and teh piranha cannot open once on the krab

ive got the leatherman 303 locking knife , its a really great knife with a built in karabiner and a one handed speed opener

its great, it just lives on my harness until i need it, only thing i did was tie a piece of cord through the hole so that i could open and use it whilst attached to my cowstails or something so that i didnt drop it at a crucial moment 100ft up a pitch lol

its serrated for cutting rope, its not that great for anything else, but i have a leatherman in my bag for other things - this is for emergencies only lol. its easy to open one handed cos of the thumbwheel type design

I use a Spyderco Tenacious. Great knife, cheap as chips and top quality. Also comes with serrated blade too.

I had the leatherman c33, I gave it to my partner.
If you stick it on a jig that thing can take a real nice fine edge, which may round or chip easy but it's also really easy to stick the edge back on it. It's easy to turn it into a rough edge with a mini wallet steel.
The clip is a handy size for belt loops or pack loops.
It doesn't take a brilliant lanyard setup, but a ring clipped to the hook, which attaches it to a bracelet does make it quite handy.
The launcher works with just a little push of gravity.
Grip is excellent for wet and slippy use.
I upgraded to the Tti, but thats for more general use.

I used to use a COLT CSAR Tool,but it's a Gravity knife so it's been sat in the cabinet for years now,shame really as it's a great tool

I did see a link from someone on another forum showing the knife with the serrated blade for sale in the USA and the price was under £9.00 I forgot to bookmark the site.

The spatha is what I have for climbing instructing and since doing a BCU FSRT course, kayaking/canoeing too.

I am very very impressed with SRM, it's the 710 I use probably more than others because I just don't worry about it.

It'll never be a favourite or replace the Spydercos but I have a slack handful of them for rough stuff.
