Hello guys. I am going with a group of friends to a local woods for 2 nights on wednesday and was wondering what kit I need to take, as well as quantities. I know that I will forget something really obvious so I just wanted to know what you would take, so I can add and/or take away items from my list. Thank you in anticipation.

Just think logically.

Something to drink from and means to make a brew.(teabags and spoon)

Something to eat and water if none nearby.(spork as cutlery)

Something to sleep on, in and under for shelter.

Anything else is basically a luxury.

I'm assuming you'll have a knife and saw/axe for fire.

You really don't need a lot and if you try some carving the time will fly by.

dynamo torches are pretty cool and dirt cheap too, but head lamps are really useful after dark!

headlamp, ti mug, spork, dry food, water, lighter/fire lighting equipment, axe saw and knife if im expecting a fire or other wood work, tent/tarp, roll mat, sleeping bag, woolie hat gloves etc possibly some dry layers and bog roll is a must. Prob other stuff. Oh yeh first aid kit!

I cant believe no one has said beer yet!!!

Headtorch is one of my most used pieces of kit.

i find beer too heavy to carry enough to do me for a night... that and to keep cold. tend to go for a spirit instead. also instead of bogroll you get these little packs of biodegradable baby wet wipes. clean right through to the squeak and pack really small.

food wise i'd get a couple of the "look what i found" range for dinners with some rice

some porridge sachets for breakfast

maybe a pot noodle or breakfast bars/ flapjacks or something for lunches

all pack pretty small and light

I tend to take a hip flask of home made sloe gin, or brandy. But on a summers night I feel the weight of a few cans of cider is worth carrying.

'clean right through to the squeek' -that should be andrexs new slogan mate! lol
