Well here’s the latest update:
I had a follow up with the neurologist this afternoon. The results of the MRI and MRA showed no damage so no previous mini strokes or TIAs. I have another follow up scheduled for mid May but he’s satisfied that if I show no symptoms by April I’ll be Ok to schedule the kidney surgery. I’ll call the urologist’s office tomorrow and see what they say. Hopefully the pandemic won’t delay it.

Well the nurse called this morning. The partial nephrectomy is scheduled for next Tuesday, 21 April at 07:00 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola.

Very best wishes for a successful outcome and a healthy life thereafter.
Mind and give your daughter access to your account so she can come on and tell us you're doing well :)

Thanks. I’ll see what I can do. I don’t know if I could convince her to do that or not. I’ll see. In any case a couple of members here are also Facebook friends so they should be able to copy and paste her posts from there onto this thread hopefully.

Yes, your specialists are very through.

Dont go catching anything when in Hospital, eh?
Thanks. I’m hoping not to catch anything. The doctor’s staff gave me the option of delaying it but we both felt it probably shouldn’t wait any longer.

Well I just got home earlier this afternoon (about 2 hours ago here) The surgery went really well but as you can imagine the pain was pretty bad the first couple of days. I was on a clear liquid diet until after lunch today but at discharge they said I advance to a “soft” diet for the next couple of days and if I tolerate that then go back to regular diet. You have no idea just how awesome scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes tasted tonight!

The pathology report still isn’t back from the lab but they’ll call me when it is. The surgeon is also supposed to call Monday to check up on me and schedule a follow up appointment in 7 to 10 days.

Thanks everybody for all the kind words, thoughts, and prayers.

Very pleased to hear that it seems to have gone well, best wishes that it's all cleared up too.

Isn't food a pleasure to be enjoyed when you haven't had it for a few days ? :)
