We were issued something similar, made by karrimor, & it was superb kit, it was only on issue to dog handlers, "the oiks" weren't issued it, so if we ever put it down we ran a high risk of it being stolen or recycled. The old one's were in big demand, when new one's were issued.

I read some where they were issued to police dog handlers, i think it was Karrimor SF enforcer ones in black, wet weather jackets.
Thank's for the info mate.
Gary.

That's the one Gary, the enforcer. We were also issued the fleeces, which were also very good. As a one off, I was once issued the stealth, over trousers & hurricane fleece, very nice.

Ah.....so you won that one from ebay the other week. I did almost consider bidding on that to have as a spare. What a cracking price you got it for.
Edit: Sorry. Just read you said "a while ago"...some other lucky person grabbed one the other week for the same price. ;)

Anyway....I've had one for a while and really like it. The DWR that it was coated with when it was new was absolutely superb although that seems to be nowhere near as good now....hopefully some nikwax does the trick as you'd have been forgiven for thinking the outer was the waterproof layer. It has the best hood I've had on any jacket when it's dialed in right for your head or for the ferocity of the weather.

I don't have many bad things to say about the jacket other than waterproof drop liner....because this is inside the jacket it offers absolutely no protection to what's in your pockets. This is a bit of an annoyance and I don't think it would have been too hard for them to add a small liner to the pockets. If the DWR on the outer is in need of a boost then the pockets will get wet and on a winter day with freezing winds this is less than ideal let alone having to be careful about what you put in them because of this. The only other thing I wish this jacket had is pit zips...they would be a welcome addition to this jacket as it's not one I think I'll take with me on Summer trips.

You may have noticed that you can zip a Karrimor SF fleece into the jacket to extend it's seasonal use. They are a tad pricey however you'll be pleased to know that cheaper fleeces will also zip in there as well....with the right zip. I discovered this by sheer accident one day when I had a Regatta fleece on and went to zip it up only to be confused and realise I'd zipped it into the jacket instead......Nice!

In short I really like the jacket and my small gripes are just that...they are the only criticisms I have of it. You got yourself one bargain and a half. Enjoy!

Great stuff... Yes i bought mine about 5 month ago, not been out in heavy rain in it yet! its deffo not a summer jacket. I prefer wearing mine tucked up at waist, as the shock cord in the hem grips me around the legs when i leave it down, is this normal lol. I'd prefer if it had pit zips, get a tad warm in it. It's a great jacket all said, i'm glad i bought it.

Thanks for the detailed user review.
