tonight...

come back from a weekend family camping

Me, Daddy - respiratory tract problems with Asthma and a choking cough. (5th week of it now so really getting me down)
Wife - Cough, exhausted and generally under the weather looking after the rest of us
Oldest son, went to bed with the worst cold ever, can't breath bless 'im

but the most unfair thing of all....

My 18 month old seems to have a sickness bug and we're sat up with the poor little mite. It's going to be a long night.

Leave my kids alone!

Grrrrrr.

us folks who had kids when we was younger now what you mean its hard give em lots of what they want and plenty of hugs you will all get through it in the end regards dave

Try some old fashioned steaming with Vic in the bowl.

see if the wee one will take some buttered bread with sugar.

Hope it leaves soon.

Thanks guys, I know the drill. Been here before. Jest venting my spleen. It's even more frustrating with the little ones as they only want 'mummy'. I can fix toys, I can fix friendships, I can put plasters on knees - but sickness bugs are hell spawn, you just have to wait 'em out and think yourself lucky you have a washing machine.

I can only sympathise, and really hope that things are looking better for everyone in the morning, Mike.

Rotten time of year for it too, it's hot enough without kids feeling feverish and stuffed up as well.

Tom's sugar suggestion is an old one, but somehow it seems to work.
Provenance for it :)....once as a little boy King James VI wasn't well, and his Guardians called in the physicians, who after consultations and learned discussions, duly recommended the judicious ingestion of sugar tablets :D
Basically they fed the king sweeties

Five weeks is too long for you to be coughing, I hope you've seen your Doctor too.

atb,
Mary

Me and my baby boy recently re-descovered albas oil and its wonderful stuff. Only a few drops is needed on the underside of a pillow or on a tissue under the bed sheets.
I suffer with a constant cold during the summer (doctor pills grade hayfever) and the boy had a cold, we both slept wondefuly after a few drops.
