Jerven bag question?

Been considering the jerven bag original.. I know it's not insulated, but couldn't I just use a cheap lightweight sleepbag or a poncho liner instead of buying the more expensive models?

You could but the thing to remember about the original is when it's zipped up it's only 143cm square. Hardly big enough to to be used as a full length bag

That is quite small? Maybe the hunter is a better option..

Check out their site - it'll give you all the various models and sizes. THe basic Jervens isn't insulated, most are.

even the insulated Jerven's bags need a light weight sleeping bag/ponch liner.

Dunno about that - was using just a Jervens bag last weekend! (Admittedly on a very warm Exped mat though....)

I used just the heavyweight lined Jervens at Middlewood in February. Lovely and warm!

Simple answer Jimbo, but yes you can do that, the jerven bag isn't meant to be a sleeping bag the manufacturers even say so themselves.
