According to Mac's link, this is "Highly prized aromatic wood", so should be good.

Might be worth getting a few bits for trade or sale. It won't be a commonly available wood in the UK.
 
thanks for the link, Macaroon! trading pieces of the timber might be a bit challenging as i'm in japan and shipping costs to UK would likely be hefty.... . but i'll DEFINITELY tell my workmate to save as much as possible! (kinda ridicioulous that we get split-up pieces with our fire wood deliveries(=useless for carving).....)
