Yvelines, north-west of Paris, France.
But I don't know what use I can make of it.

I think it's the white mulberry (Morus alba), though it might be a red (M. rubra) or a hybrid of the two.

Other than get myself some silkworm eggs, or leave the berries for the cardinals, what other uses are there for the berries and leaves?

The tree is quite small, and the branches are long and thin, so I don't expect to be able to use the wood for anything.

I've found that the bark peels easily in log, strong strips... so you should be able to do some nice basketry, also from the very long twigs (up to 1 m) that sprout new every year. Cutting off a long limb will cause a lot of new twigs to grow from just under the cut in the next year.
I used a simple wrapped strand of bark as a bowdrill cord and almost had success...

Because mulberries grow very fast, you should soon have a yearly supply of twigs and pretty regular bark supplies.
