After inspiration from Stuarts thread: http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95505 I've been having a little go at the Kolrosing thing.

The top bits were a couple test runs, the I gave it a go on a knife handle I had made a while back.
I'm getting a bit carried away with plans to do this on a knife for a friend and I'm thinking a Ben Orford Pick or Neck knife would be an ideal tool for the job. http://www.benorford.com/CarvingTools.aspx
Anyone know where I could get a little 1" blade blank from to make my own?

Its been a welcome distraction from my studies today - although quite a time consuming one as well!

Thanks for looking.

Colin if you pm nic Westerman on here I'm sure he will be able to sort you out with a suitable blade blank. Nice work on your knife handle too. I started doing a little kolrosing after seeing some of Wayland's work and it is a bit addictive. I have used one of Ben Orford's small carving knives but have recently bought a swivel knife to try. Still practising at the moment but it does seem to be very precise and easy to work with.
