The 'proper' UK Mil watches are those where the illumination is by GTLS - Gaseous Tritium Light Source and is the same material used to light up the sighting arrow in a SUSAT sight mounted atop an SA80 (and other weapons).

Search The Military Watch Company. They aren't cheap though.

Got to disagree with you there. I have 2 issue watches. ‘96 and ‘09 dated ones and neither are GTLS.
