Many years ago, lots of us on here started hammocking using a BCUK group buy hammock. I used mine for a long time, and then upgraded to a fancier, much more expensive hammock. In the last couple of years though, I've returned to my old BCUK hammock in the colder months (when an insect net isn't needed) after modding it a bit.
I've replaced the end ropes with amsteel loops, and fitted an amsteel structural ridge line. It's now a simple, very light hammock that's about 95% as comfortable as my expensive hammock, which is negligible anyway. Is anyone else still using theirs?
