Ha, my SWMBO used to sleep for miles and miles ( on the back of a Jota ) :)

Mine too. LOL! 'Twas on the back of my Honda 750

Really can't see the point of having a cover for the bike as well as sleeping area though. I mean if it's raining could the bike get anymore wet parked outside. Granted if you have to do a bit of work on it it'd be handy, but then you'd find a more suitable shelter for all and sundry surely?

Why would you buy that. One the bike is dirty anyway so putting it in the tent is wrong and you will keep smacking your head on the bloody thing crawling out of the tent to have a wee in the middle of the night.
Now if I was getting a tent that goeas with bikes and touring Ill look at this from Topeak http://www.topeak.com/products/Tent/Bikamper seeing as it has been going for years now must mean it's a seller.

I think they are aiming for the BMW GS market, nuf said.

Nuff said indeed.

Perhaps it comes with a MacGregor and Boreman seal of approval, the fact they never used them is beside the point. The fact that they could have might tip the balance in the selling favour.

As for that bicycle tent thingy... well I have my opinion on that too. Perhaps that's aimed at people who won't have any fence posts, trees of other things to attach guy lines too. Just seems to me a clever, but ultimately, superfluous idea. The fact that a lot of people buy it wouldn't convince me it was worth it, perhaps those people don't belong to forums that do tests and feedback on it.

I think it is more about keeping the bike out of view in areas where there is a high risk of someone nicking it/bits of it in the night or where the population has a high anti-biker feeling (think "Easy Rider").
It might be an idea then...especially if the tent is available in "natural" or camo colours!

i like the idea, but its a bit pricey for the novalty. A bike cover and lock is small and light enough to carry on a journey, plus i like the hommck.
thanx for sharing.

Jackcbr, If I had the cash I'd have a GS in a heartbeat. I love 'em, but you have to admit they do have a certain "following" bit like Reliant Robin owners, or Volvos.

No offense intended. Like I said I'd have one... then rat it into a post apoclayptic bike with a huge Zombie redeadener strapped across the handlebars. Just gotta be done LOL!

I've got the old 1150. Less plastic and loads of fun. Hauls me around in comfort and can stand going down green lanes and up on to the farm. Got mine for the mile munching and shaft drive. Also I don't look so fat on it.

Don't really care what people think TBH. I like it, it suits my heavyweight lifestyle. I've done the sports bikes and the commuters, but just seem to gel with this one. I'm not one to chop and change bikes. I normally ride bikes to their death. Which usually means in little pieces across the M25. Hoping this one will see me through till I've had enough.
