I thought my compass was buggered!

After packing up my tramping gear and shipping it up here from NZ I noticed my compass had a serious lean to it.

Dangerously so, because it would stick and not swing freely if held level!

I thought it had some been stuffed up in shipping...

Turns out that it's just not balanced for northen hemisphere use!

A bit of a google and turns out you can buy international and adjustable compasses? Grouse.

silva do a very good global compass in yellow which in baseplate model can be picked up for a good price
