Yup autumn is on its ways.

I always like Autumn and Spring the best
Temps are more reasonable, coming in from work to a warm house, fruits and berries to forage and gather, nights drawing in, digging out the slow cooker for stews and casseroles proper comfort foods, the campfire becomes more than a cook fire, less chance of people wearing clothes that a true friend would tell them isn't suitable, skills are more needed to camp out-anyone can camp in the summer seasons I feel), approaching family birthdays-shan of tanith will be 11 my nan (gran of tanith perhaps) will be 92 and I'll be 32, saim hain and bonfire night, the urge to do more of the craftier side of things, jam and pickle making, sloe gin/brandy/rum to make.
Love it.
Yay for Autumn :)
And then theres the hope its gonna be a cold harsh winter for some snowy camping

Yup, was wonderful this morning at 0630 here in Newbury. Misty, a nice chill to the air. Took a wander from the office to the garage to get breakfast at 0730 and it felt very autumnal. Now the sun is blazing though. Looking forward to the Autumn camps in the woods! :D

I love late summer and autumn. Warm, sunny days with golden light, cool nights, maybe some fog in the morning. Nature wears my favourite colors, and I love the smell. Temperatures are comfortable for hiking, and you don't freeze while taking a break.
I get more and more excuses to light the fire in the oven and spend the evening in front of the fireplace, with a good book and a nice drink.

I like winter, if we have some snow. I can't stand weeks without sun and snow, and the worse time of the year is around February, when you can't wait for the first signs of spring to arrive and your body and soul are wishing for more sun and it's still dark, gray and wet outside.

Of course we have beautiful days in February and bad days in September, but still autumn is my favourite time of year!

On the bike yesterday it was chilly enough to do up the bit that goes under my chin. Will soon be back on the bus when the frosts and ice start coming in.

Anyone else noticed a lot more wasps than usual for this time of year? I know they have their marching orders about now but there are loads of the little bleeders! Setup a few traps in the garden as the boy is getting pestered and I have been stung a fee times. One thing I don't like about this time of year..

It's been a great Summer all told, the last few days i've felt Autumn, we were driving the other day in Wiltshire and Shelly commented about the hedges and leaves starting to turn, I'd like it if we had hard winters and good summers, proper seasons...

My favourite times of year are autumn and winter for me there is nothing better than a bright, sunny winter's day, with the air so cold it almost hurts to breath it

I've been noticing it this week, the moisture in the air, a few leaves starting to drop, nights drawing in, i look forward to all the seasons, and i'm certainly looking forward to more tree work and logs and less cutting the grass!

And of course the best thing about autumn and winter; casseroles and stews! which this year will be simmering away on the new installed wood stove!

I love it!
