I've recently started carrying one of these instead.

UK legal, Carbon steel and sharp as lemon straight out of the box.

It needed a tiny bit of fettling to remove a few rough edges when I got it but nothing a piece of wet and dry didn't sort out.

It's actually become one of my favourite pocket tools and replaced the SAK that's been there for twenty odd years.

I bought mine from a great little shop in Kirkby Lonsdale for about £16 but RS. had the best pictures I could find online.

It is a nice little knife and certainly felt good in the hand when you were showing it around at RC last meet...

But damn you Gary... Ronnies is only 15 minutes from me so I'm going to have to resist temptation.... :borgsmile

Which version is it you've got, the 74 or 75?

How are you going to tackle bits stuck in horses hooves with that?

Lovely knife though, especially for the price. I still love my SAK Soldier though - sent it a Valentine today.

handyniknaks sell several including a very usable clip point balade which is a fair bit pointier (No80)

they also do them with Babinga and Beech scales

Good to see a variety but I really liked the drop point and olive wood, it just had a classic look and feel to me.

That the army surplus camping store? If it is, its great used to spend ages in my lunch hours looking round it when I was at school there.

Yes, that's the one.

Great little shop, you can always find something interesting in there, especially if you poke about a bit.

Nice friendly staff too.
