Here, we'd call it a burn, and it'd have baggie minnows and newts in it :) and rope swings over the top and meadowsweet growing along side.

That's half of the fun, you so *don't* want to fall ;) Mostly our burns are deep sided because when it rains they really scour out their channels, make's it more like a swing over a deep gulley.
The local kids have got one over the burn just now and the racket they're making playing on it is driving my neighbours nuts...then the dad's had a play on it last night :rolleyes: and the kids are complaining they snapped the rope and now it's too short!
